Dr Victor Fung is Group Chairman of the Fung Group which comprises major subsidiaries in sourcing, logistics, distribution and retailing. Dr Fung holds a number of civic and professional appointments. He is a member of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing, member of the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. In Hong Kong, Dr Fung a Non-official Member of Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Innovation and Strategic Development, the Governance Committee member of the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio. He is the Co-Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Advisory Group on Trade Finance.
Dr Fung is a former member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a former Chairman of the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Airport Authority Hong Kong.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Fung holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University. He was a professor at Harvard Business School for four years before returning to Hong Kong in 1976.
