China to Cut Troops by 300,000: President Xi

China will cut the number of its troops by 300,000, President Xi Jinping announced Thursday.

Xi made the announcement while addressing the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Xi says China suffers over 35 million casualties in anti-Japanese war

BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — President Xi Jinping said on Thursday that China suffered over 35 million casualties and the Soviet Union lost more than 27 million lives during the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
